The Directorate of Human Resources, in cooperation with the University of Sharjah, implemented the professional diploma in human resources management at the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University of Sharjah, with the participation of (27) employees working at the Human Resources Directorates in the departments, authorities and institutions of the Government of Sharjah. The programme runs for four weeks for the average of (110) training hours.
The programme aims to introduce the participants to the mechanisms of analysing, describing and planning the career path, modern concepts and trends in management generally and human resources management particularly, besides management methods and systems, employee performance evaluation, personal interviews skills, training needs determination skills, wages and salaries system and applications, as well as human resources systems in the Government of Sharjah.
HH Dr. Tariq Sultan Bin Khadem, Member of the Executive Council, Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources, said that the Directorate pays great attention to the human element and provides it with all the required skills in terms of training, qualification and development of work mechanisms which are in line with the continuous development. The Directorate seeks to develop mechanisms and strategies for the training programmes that contribute significantly to the improvement of job performance and increased productivity. It is also keen to achieve optimal investment in human resources, being the real wealth of the nation, by imparting knowledge, skills and capacities through the development plans and programmes that enable them to achieve the highest levels of efficiency, placing them at the core of the executive process through practice and acquisition of experience. It focuses on the importance of professional development in the various functional specialties that enable the participant to obtain accredited certificates, which meets the work needs and requirements at the government’s departments, authorities and institutions.
He confirmed that the empowerment of employees falls within the efforts of improving the performance of government work, achieving the highest degrees of excellence and contributing effectively to the development of the performance of their institutions. He praised the efforts of the University of Sharjah, the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University and all entities and institutions cooperating in the programme, for their interest in improving the performance of their human resources and making a quantum leap in the work systems and methods as well as the institutional productivity.
